Scissor gait is one of the most prevalent gait disorders resulting from cerebral palsy. It is a form of gait disorder characterized by crossing of the legs in a scissor-like movement while walking, leading to unstable and slowed gait. Patients who exhibit scissor gait need a way to limit crossing of the legs  while walking in order to improve stability, movement speed, and energy efficiency.

We developed GaitAssist, an orthosis designed  to alleviate the symptoms of scissor gait in order to improve stability, movement speed, and energy efficiency.
